Do you remember the dosage you were taking? Mine seems a little extreme....

It will make you more sensitive to sulight as you seem to be aware of. For max effectiveness, make sure you take it on an empty stomach with no dairy. both can nullify its effects. I'm assuming your on this already and hes not giving this to you as a pre antibiotic? Tell him of the AS use. It could be very important.

That is a higher dose than usual. I would ask the doc or a doc discretely if you're worried about your privacy. Some chems cannot be mixed. When I was on accutane the doc said I could not be on doxycycline (antibiotic we took in Iraq) because it could cause brain swelling..........just to let you know how serious some sides can be.

it does not mix with alcohol at all, you will get sick as a dog. other then that you are straight. Makes you real sensitive to sunlight too. I would ask the doc too though he isnt gonna burn you.

I was told about the alcohol by a friend but the warnings say nothing about it. Almost every medication/antibiotic warns you of drinking while taking it...this one says nothing. I'm not going to drink while on it anyways, i dont want to risk it...

I'm only on it till friday, should i really risk telling my doc about my AS use???

actually i'm only on it till thursday night, my operation is at 11 am friday...

a doctor will not burn you, if you are worried about aas and tetra reacting you dont need to worry but for other things you may want to ask, and the alcohol will def make you sick as a dog, i know why but cant remember why.

It can casue intercranial swelling. Why alchohol would be a problem is odd.

I think it has to do with mixing in the stomach, because it will make you sick to your stomach almost everytime.

                          Re: Tetracycline question

This is all i could find

You should not drink alcoholic beverages or take other alcohol-containing preparations while you are taking your medication and for at least 1 day after stopping it. Alcohol may make you dizzy, feel sick, and flushed; or give you headaches and stomach pains

                          Drug Interactions
Consult your physician for specific advice if you are taking antacids, calcium supplements, cholestyramine, choline and magnesium salicylates, medicines containing iron, laxatives
                          containing magnesium, or oral contraceptives.

                          Special Concerns
If tetracycline causes increased sensitivity of your skin to sunlight, wear protective clothing, use a sunscreen with an SPF (sun protection factor) of 15 or higher, and try to avoid direct exposure to sunlight, especially between 10 A.M. and 3 P.M. Before having surgery, tell the doctor or dentist in charge that you are taking tetracycline. If you use makeup, it is best to apply only water-based cosmetics and to keep the amount to a minimum during tetracycline therapy for the skin. Tetracycline can reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives. You should use a different method of birth control while taking this antibiotic. Absorption of tetracycline may be altered if you take antacids.

i was on tettra for a long time, i drank ocasionally, not well on.
youll burn really easy on it, so avoid the long exposer to the sun. i have never had sunburn in my life until i went on that. and no dairy for like 1 hour before or after.
