doxycycline and expiration date?

I have some doxy, but i think it is expired and for doxy the expiration actually matters....can anyone confirm that expiration date does matter

answered my own question

"Do not take any Doxycycline after the expiration date printed on the bottle. Expired Doxycycline can cause a dangerous syndrome resulting in damage to the kidneys."
