Any pointers or secrets to drawing out of an ampule? It would be easier w/ 3 hands, but w/ only 2 I have hard time drawing the plunger back and holding onto the amp. How does everybody elso do this? what agle to you hold the amp?
I always use at least a 23 guage no higher, make sure i aspertate first, then hold amp tilted slightly with left hand and hold syringe with thumb and finger next to pinky, and draw back with the index and middle finger. It is pretty easy once you get used to it. If you use a higher guage needle it will be difficult. I have even put the opened amp on a flat surface like formica and just put needle in the amp, but i wouldn't recommend this to beginner as you must be very steady, lol!
Just use an 18 g needle and its easy, hold the needle like your going to stab someone with it and use your thumb and if you need to, your index finger to push the plunger up, simple, kinda like your flipping a coin.
It's like playing the game Operation...remember? Anyway, make sure you switch out the dart before you inject it. Often times pressing the needle against the edges of the amp like that dulls out the needle. This can be quite painful...so I've been told (LOL). Anyway, tap the amp to make sure you don't lose any liquid when opening it, and hold it at an angle while drawing it out to make sure you get most of it. REMEMBER...change the needle. It's definately worth the 25 cents!
