Weird Injection

After many many injections, this has got to be my strangest one. I've gone thru veins, injected right into veins, hit painful nerves, etc. but today's injection had me scratching my head. I was sticky my left quad. After all 1.5" of the needle was deep into my muscle, i aspirated like a good injector always should. I didn't get the immediate pullback on the plunger and see the little bubbles indicating a good spot. Nor did i see blood start to flood into the barrel of the syringe. Instead the plunger pulled back waaay too easily and the syringe was filling up with a white liquid. What the hell is this? I pulled out and examined the liquid. It was a kinda thick milky whitish-brown liquid. I guess it was either puss or an old injection that had just set up in the exact same pocket I injected into this time. Strange, cuz that spot wasn't hurting or anything. Anyone ever experienced this. Do i have a fun infection and painful absess in my near future. Any info or similar stories are greatly appreciated. chances are that you just got into an oil pocket....

Ive jabbed and drew oil from a previoous injection couple days later...nothjing serious
Keep an eye on the area...if it hasnt been painful or nuttin, and no signs of abscesses already, you are just purty

Could be oil that didn't disapate totally, or more likely an upcomming infection.

i would go to the doc and try and get antibiotics. i have never had that happen but have heard stories about it.

Never had that happened ,lets just hope it's nothing serious .Yeah Im wit Mick-G the oil probably didn't disapate all.

hey i dont know if i posted it on this website but i migth have i have to look...i got something very similar to that....and it was in my quad too......i pulled back and this whitish cloudy red blood started coming in...i pulled up about 1/4 cc and was like hmmmm....and i didnt care and just injected the rest of the shot in.......i came off cycle shortly after that so it went away....i think its just that i did so many frequent injections there that there was a build up of weird shit.....thats my best explanation

gymphreak and mick-g got it. if it dosnt hurt i wouldnt worry about it. did the same thing in my delt recently. very unsettleing but no harm was done. rotate injection spots more to prevent oil buildup and a possible abcess down the road.

You should be fine. As I alluded to in an early post, you can get minor infections form injecting that dont result in an abcess. IF your worried, go to the pet store and get some fish antibiotics.

all seems to be fine with my leg. No pain, no knot, feeling fine and dandy. Now if i could just quit struggling with fina cough almost ever other injection, everything would be perfect. Any good solutions for this. I inject as slowly as possible and sure enuf here comes that sweet metalish taste in my throat and i know i'm in for it. Sux!!!

You can get antibiotics OTC at a vet store, they work fine, just like human antibiotics. I had the beginnings of an abcess, and got some erythromycin (for fish) and took care of it in 3 days, I took 7 more days worth to make sure all bacteria was gone. Tetracycline can also be had OTC.
