  • Who uses syringe filters?

When drawing from an ampule? I've always had vials in the past and don't remember reading about many using them. Just want to be as safe as I can.

syringe filters like whatmans etc? i wouldn't recommend using them for drawing purposes... 1st it only works one way (syringe-filter-vial) and 2nd it would be way too complicated to do it every time u want to draw... i don't see the need to do that either?

When I mentioned I would be using amps next time to my wife which is a nurse she said I would need one in case of possible glass chippings. Just wanted to ask.

if u do a nice and clean break there won't be any... get an amp opener if u afraid of shattering the amps...

Only when homebrewing... so several times a week. But never when drawing from a vial or amp, what's the point?

I've never used one... and never injected a piece of glass either (that I know of at least).

Probably not a bad idea tho. However, I'm sure it's going to increase waste as you'll loose some of your gear in the filter.

I think it you just stick to a smaller guage pin you'll be fine. I crushed some amps pretty good, and still didn't have any problems with a 23ga drawing pin. Clean breaks and a 25ga drawing pin should be pretty safe (although slow).

TAKE A NAIL FILE AND SAND THE NECK OF THE AMP THEN BREAK...IT WILL BREAK CLEAN EVERY TIME WITH NO CHIPS

I see get pins sells an actual amp opening tool and it's cheap so I'll probably pick one up.
