  • Slin 2 Days a Week Only??????

    I was wondering if this would be beneficial for weight gain, with or without juice. I'm probably lookin to bridge with it........

    The reason I ask if 2 days is fine is because I have to work out after work. So this is like at 5:30pm. I know that you can't go to sleep within 4 hours of takin it. I wouldn't risk takin it that late in the day/evening. Make sense???

    I would take the slin on weekends - work out Sat and Sun in the morning. Then of course administer it after my workout. Could this work?

    Or will it still benefit me if I take it in the morning at work out at nite??

    You should start taking it Post workout only at first.

    Start at 2 or 3 iu's and work your way up to 10.

    I think slin two times a week will definately make a difference.

    Humalog is out in 2 hours. Humalin-r is out in 4 hours.

    Be careful. You need to read a lot more. You are not ready yet.

    Do you know what mix carbs/protein etc.. to take immediately after shot?

      Thanx hostile. I'm currently doing research. Taking my time. As for carbs/protein there is some good stuff that I read.
      Any advice from anyone is appreciated!

        Yeah, I certainly have easier access to insulin than any other non-OTC drug, but I am way too chicken to mess with it.

        One question though; if you use a really fast acting insulin, wouldn’t it be a better idea to take it say about a half an hour or so after you consume a large carbo drink? Then maybe drink another carbo drink immediately after taking the insulin – just to be safe.

        My thinking is that generally after a workout your blood sugar is low and if you don’t give the carbs enough time to get into your system before the insulin kicks in, the results could be disastrous. Also, it is hard to gauge how fast your blood sugar levels will rise after consuming a drink - everybody is different. I have had many instances where I have become lightheaded and dizzy from low blood sugar, and not felt better until a good 45 minutes after a carb drink. Also, I have had times when I felt better in as little a five minutes.

        Maybe if you consume a large carbo drink during the last 15 minutes of your workout then take the insulin 5 or 10 minutes after the workout and then another carbo drink immediately after taking the insulin might be a safer bet.

        I could be completely off here; this is all just theory on my part. I don’t have any first hand experience using insulin, but I am just curious what others think about the timing of it.

          Drenton, that is why it is important to take in "simple carbs" right after shot. So they get in your blood fast enough.

          A better way to do it would be to go to wal mart and get a test kit. And test your blood sugar levels at various intervals after shot. This will tell you exactly how many carbs you need etc. (actually it will really tell you how much slin you need). This is what Notacow does and I am going to start monitoring my blood sugar levels when I do slin.

                I have heard it said many times that Humalog "peaks" in 1 hour and humalin r "peaks" in 2 hours. It looks like that is obviously wrong.

                So, I stand corrected and will therefore correct anyone that I hear saying that in the future.

                  I have used slin only on saturday for the past 8 weeks or so, i have kept all my gains even known i was clean, i will continue this for another 9 weeks as i hit the gear, you can use it twice a day in the same manner, i used 6-7iu per shot 3 times a day i use humilin-R as i find humolog to be to fast acting to achive much...good luck...XXL

                      I know the rule 10gr of carbs per iu.
                      What exactly r u taking in the form of carbs, Gatorade? Pop? Juice?
                      Are you mixing it with a protien low carb no fat shake?
                      I'd like to know what exactly are you taking after your shot of slin....

                        Diamond, I take one carbo force (110g carbs), 10g glutamine, 10g creatine, and 60g whey protein, and mix it in a blender and drink it down. It tastes like shit, but it is perfectly balanced.

                        Then I drink a MRP at the one hour mark.

                        Then a MRP or a lowfat meal at the two hour mark.

                        This is using humalog.

                          I am aiming to try it earliest next winter. I have a good friend of mine that also uses it and has been givin me advice.
                          I know I am not ready yet, however with increased in knowledge hopefully I will have takin in enough to feel confident using it!
