    How to seal ampules?

    Does anyone know how?

    Should I buy sealed or unsealed? Do I need to buy a crimper to make sure the seal is tight?

    How can I be sure it's sterile?

    Please help

    there are stoppers you can buy that you can use without crimpers. they work well and are air/leak proof.

      Hold on, are we talking ampules or vials?

      Vials are easy.. just get a stopper, a crimp top, and a crimper.

      With ampules you need a high heat torch. You melt then twist the glass to seal. Not easy...escpecially when you don't want to cook your gear.

                  Depends on what type of ampules did you buy. I had the very thin glass casing type and just used a candle. It comes in a box of 144 and have a very long neck at the top with an opening. You just hold the tip of neck over the flame, don't hold it at the very end, you want to melt right before the end of the opening. Then roll it around in your fingers so your heating all the sides. You have to be carefull cause after a few seconds, you'll see the walls of the neck close in on each other and form a seal. Kinda tedious and you will mess up on a few. Better to use a vial instead.
