2. as for the odds, it is hard to know exactly the what the odds will be. just be careful.

3. ways to reduce the risk. always make sure the injection site has been cleaned and sterilized (alcohol swabs work really well) slowly and steadily slide the pin into the skin. ALWAYS ALWAYS aspirate (after the pin is in pull the plunger back a bit to see if any blood goes into the syringe). if it does pull out the pin and try another spot. When injecting go slow. never use a needle twice.

I go through blood vessels quite often, but that is why you aspirate. That will let you know if the end of the pin in inside of a vessel.

Bleeding to death from hitting a vein with a needle? That seems a little extreme. I have the occasional gusher but nowhere near bleeding to death.

I've shot several hundred darts in the last couple of years and have yet to get blood when aspirating. The odds are very small you will ever inject into a vein.
