I ordered some filters that i just got in yesterday. I thought they were whatman but when i opened the package they said Titan2 on the filter and were yellow. Never used these before but they looked just like a whatman so i figured what the hell. Well i was filtering some fina today and the thing clogged after 2ml. I pushed harder and the filter busted and about a ml of fina shot all over my face and in my eyes whiched burned for a good 30 min. I had some whatmans left over from a previous batch and filtered the rest of the fina using one whatman. I guess my question is has anyone used these before or had problems? I thought it was kind of odd that it clogged after 2ml and with the whatman i filtered about 30ml with absolutly no probs.

Sounds like your filter’s membrane was the wrong type. It was probably PTFE instead of PVDF. -
Yep i just looked it up and they are PTFE. So does that mean they are going to do the same thing with all my conversions? I have quite a few conversions i was gonna work on but if these filters are useless i'll have to wait and order some whatmans.Comment

titans royally suck. I ordered a bunch of em real cheap and they jam waaaayyyyy before a whatman does. Now I pay a little more and receive a lot less frustration.Comment

They are color coded. Yellow is PTFE, Red is PVDF. Here is a pic of the ones i got.Comment

the yellow is .45 and blue is .20 Im pretty sure.Comment

The new Titan 2 are rated for 70lbs more pressure then the whatmans.
Your problem is 100% because of the membrane. If you chose a whatman using the teflon membrane the exact same thing would happened. Save yourself like 50% in price and get the titan2's

I have herd the same thig from others regarding the titan filters. The clog easy and end up cracking before you filtering is done.Comment

Dont get me wrong..I dont sell Titans. I just heard that they really made big impovements with the second revision i.e. Titan2
Lion Nutrition sells them ....he should be able to provide more feedback.
