First signs of an abcess?

What would be the first signs of an abcess? I tried a glute shot of Kynoselen, and now three days later the injection spot is a baseball sized purple area and is hot to the touch. Not much pain at all, but still hot to the touch.

I read about Kynoselen leaving red marks if it's not injected deep enough. could this be all that it is? Or should I check with a doc due to the spot giving off heat?

Have you tried injecting into the leg, hip, or shoulder? and also if you are doing 2cc, possibly break it down to twice a day (less potential pain and knotting).

The absence of pain makes me think it isn't a abcess.
I've never had one myself, but from the feedback of others, it seems like it's almost always very painful.

But better be safe than sorry...I'd go see the doc.

WHEN THIS HAPPENS TO ME, I USUALLY TAKE SOME IBUPROFIN...THAT HELPS A LOT BEING A MILD ANTI INFLAMATORY.

I've had a huge purple bruise but it wasn't hot to the touch. I think mine was from using a 23g with suspension. The heat would make me wanna see a doc. JMO.

Thanks for the answers. I went ahead and let the doc check it out, just told him that I took a B12 injection. He said it wasn't anything to worry about, that maybe I didn't inject deep enough or I moved the needle too much when injecting.

It still looks like hell, but the hotness has gone away. Just looks like a cow kicked me in the ass.
