I was planning on using 1/4 tab of Fincar (generic Indian Proscar) a day for my upcoming Test cycle. I was also going to use topical Minoxidil 5% +
Azelaic Acid 5% formula and Nizoral. I may also try some Spiro (hear it smells pretty bad)
I planned to start it a week or two before the cycle. I was going to keep running it continuously after that but upon further research I dont like the idea of slowly increasing estrogen levels over time. It’s a known fact that decreasing DHT in the body increases estrogen slightly, more in some than others. This also only seems to magnify with long term use. Some men even have trouble with gyno and noticeable estrogen increase when using 1mg/day. DHT is a very important hormone for men. As long as my levels aren’t super high (as on a cycle) I think I want a normal level of DHT when Off. If my hair goes, it goes.
I am now thinking I should just run it about 2 months after cycle and stop.
Now I have a few questions.
A) Is it even worth using if its not long term? Its recommended that you stay on it for 6 months -1 year to see noticeable results. I assume this is due to the actual hair cycle and not the drugs chemical activity internally. Basically – am I getting a worthwhile “protective” effect?
B) Some people have made posts saying that when you stop using it your hair loss increases drastically almost in a rebound fashion. This doesn’t make sense to me. If you get off it, yes, your DHT levels will rise again to a more normal level. This doesn’t mean you didnt gain a protective effect using during the cycle. It’s not like as soon as you stop you suddenly experience mass shedding.
If any of my assumptions are incorrect, please help me out here. Anyone else have any experience with this? Looking for people who have run it for 1 year+ and actually know what they are talking about.
