ok i have a question. its not really one i think can be answered with much more then what people personally think is right, since there is so many theories out there on working out. but this is based off a theory of being on a bulk cycle, compared to a cutting cycle.
so just about everything i've ever read or heard about making your muscles bigger is somewhat based on the theory of less is better. dont sit there and do 15 reps of a certain weight, do say 8 or 10 of a heavier weight for maximum muscle growth. but is that maximum muscle growth size, strength, or both.
in theory strength is the ability to move a heavy object many times from what i know it being defined as. with a bulking cycle, your goal is to bulk up, and get big as possible. most people will follow the normal routine of "less is more", and follow it up usually by a cutting cycle.
but my question is, how many people end up changing their workout routine of "less is more" while on a cutting cycle? what i am "proposing" or thinking here, is why not have diffrent workout routines for diffrent cycles? every kind of steroid has a diffrent kind of effect. shouldn't we as bodybuilder's change our workout routine depending on the cycle we are on?
when one does a cutting cycle, the goal is to shed fat, and get a hardness of muscle. i alawys thought of the hardness of muscle as the acctual "strength" by deffintion. my thoughts with this in mind, would be changing your workout cycle to the aim of using slightly less heavy weights, and doing higher reps to help gain maximum strength. my question is, how would this change ones results while on cycle? .
asides from aiming at maximum muscle size, shouldnt we also target our strength even if the size related isnt as big? with that in mind, i think the perfect time to work on that would be a cutting cycle. i alawys sat here and thought of steroids and working out as getting bigger, with strength as the 2nd or background result. maybe this is just me who thinks like this, but from others posts, and others views, i feel that im not the only one who views these topics that way. if theres one person in bodybuilding who i view as alawys having had the right mental to get the job done, its arnold. but from looking at arnolds workout that i've seen published, what i've mentioned above doesnt relate.
another thing i'll say before ending this, is that with steroids you do have a balloon effect to a certain degree. you get big and bulk up, and see results while on cycle. you end up losing a percent of those results, no matter what. there has never been a person on any cycle, who could keep 100% of his results. how does one get big, he lifts weight. the heavier the weight, the more often he lifts, the bigger he gets. if we focus our cutting cycles on strength not size, couldnt we in turn help acheive our goals of keep more gains by training to keep our strength gains, which will in turn help us keep our size in the long run? in theory if my idea could help keep an extra 5 lbs of strength in lifting, thats 5 lbs more you lift in the long run that just keeps adding up..
im alawys learning, and alawys asking to try and grow. hopefully this will help others better understand from mine, and others comments, and to help spark new ideas and thoughts to better themself, and all of bodybuilding.
