Whats the skinny on Research Kits

I think I get the idea...is there any good FAQs or links to sites that don't sell them per se, but just have info. I've been to a few sites that do sell the kits but there is not any sorta run down. Just curios about the whole thing.

Just wanted some links to info I could look over, what the options are, the tools, the difficulty, the legal issues, the pitfalls...that kinda stuff, like Research kits 101. I just now am realizing what they are haha
