  • Freezing gear question

    Will gear like prop for example freeze solid and expand and break the vial if left too long in mailbox with this extreme cold where im from??

    In a word..no.

    It's suspended in oil. And while oil can freeze, it needs to be alot colder than what water would freeze at.

    PLUS! Did you know that water is one of the only liquids that expands when it turns solid? Most other liquids (including oils) actually shrink in size when they freeze.

    Your test may fall out of solution tho.. If this happens.. throw the vial in the microwave for 30seconds and it should be fine.

      Got gear is correct! however suspension will freeze and so will sust amps

          I've heard freezing is a good way to kill bacteria that may be present,especially in veternian gear

            Alot of bacteria will survive freezeing.

            Filtering with a whatman filter, or baking at 250* for 20min are better ideas.
