amox always worked wonders for me. guess it depends on what kind of infection you have. antibiotics fight against bacterial infections but dont do anything for virus infections.

I had an infection on one of my fingers. I'm a Paramedic and talk to the Doc's all the time about Med's. I'll ask tomorrow what would be best for an abscess.
Stay away from the Tetracycline. It has a lot of down sides. They use to give it out like candy when I was in the Military.

If you have access to it, I would suggest ********* (************) A.K.A. Z-packs. IMO, there is no better oral antibiotic. It is expensive, but it’s well worth it.
Plus you only have to take it once a day for 4 to 6 days and your all set for a good month. Just make sure that you don’t use any antacids for a couple of hours before or after using ********* (or any antibiotic for that matter). Antacids cripple the effectiveness of oral antibiotics.
I personally prefer injectable Terramycin (Oxytetracycline), although it is a painful injection and most people aren’t willing to tough it out. Diluting it with bacteriostatic water is a must; otherwise it’s like injecting fire.
I go see a doctor when I need anti-biotics, not all anti-biotics work for all infections and using the wrong one can worsen the condition significantly.
I don't want to get toned, I just want to become a fucking freak.
I just work out because I want to look good with my XXXXL shirt on.
You are asking a question that is impossible to answer. The effectiveness of an anti-biotic depends on the type of microbial agent you are trying to fight.
Some broad spectrum anti-microbials are Chloramphenicol, Gentamicin, and of course Zythromax.
