If you want the picture on the far left, go to user CP at the top of the page, then edit options, scroll all the way down to Avatar and select file name. Can't be bigger than 100X100 Pixels.

as for the avatar, go to USER CP (top right) click on it, then EDIT OPTIONS, then CHANGE AVATAR (bottom right)

the pic has to be equal to, or less than 100x100 pixels
