Dont force it. Just pull back nice and steady. Try shooting with a 25 gauge. Alot less pain, and scar tisue. I run hot water over the barrel of the syringe to heat it up, so it will easily pass through the small needle. That is all I use is 25 gauge, and never get much pain.It forces you to shoot slow also.

no, insulin syringe are 29 gauge or so. Trust me, no pain with 25 gauge, it just takes a little longer...But that is what you want.

You run tap water over the syringe?.......aren't you getting the pin wet too??? If so, you're negating it's sterilization

Needles are packaged as STERILE ....you want to keep it that way. Sterility is serious.
The things you need to be concerned about before injecting is that you maintain that sterility and then change the pin if you want to. As long as you maintain strict sterility and clean your skin, you're okay.....you can pick your nose, scratch your ass, or blow air into the bottle while the pin is inside of it, just make sure the pin is never in contact with anything (besides your injection site of course) until it's ready for the trashcan.

The sterility info also applies to the tops of the bottles.......After you open your bottles and have them hanging around the house, the rubber tops are no longer sterile or clean. So, clean the rubber tops with alcohol before sticking the needle threw it! And use a lint-free wipe of some sort so that you don't get any lint into the pin when you stick it threw the rubber nipple. If you don't have any lint-free material, just blow on the rubbers to remove any tiny or possibly invisible remaining lint off (like with toilet paper).

And if you ever have someone shoot for you, don't let them recap your needle after use...always recap your own needles so the other person doesn't ever stick themselves with your pin....if you stick yourself, it won't matter.

Give me a break! After drawing, cap the pin. Hold the syringe by the pin cap, and run (trickle) hot water over the barell. Change pins and shoot. Been doing this for 3 years, with no problem.
I hope you were joking, because i dont think anybody is dumb enough to run tap water over the pin!

Nope not even I, I knew what you meant. I always clean the top of the vial with alcohol as well.

The way I was thinking was: If I run my finger under the sink, chances are good I'll get my fingernail wet

u are good man, nothing to worry about. i mess up 2 all the time, no biggy, it is as long as u don't inject more than 1 cc fulled of air in ur body.

I use a 23 guage. Dr recommend 21's don't know why, must be some kinda standard. I push 1/2 more cc of air then needed,as this will cause greater vaccum . After turning bottle let oil come in without pulling syringe back. When you start to see oil comming in pull continually about 1/4 cc wait about 2 minutes and let go of pull. You will have more oil in syringe. Continue to pullback on syringe letting go of pull aft about two minutes. Keep this up until you have desired amount. It will take some time, as oil is slow in comming in. Oh, pull needle out without bottle being upside down, incase there is extra air vaccum. You must be patient. Give yourself extra time when injecting, so your not rushed.
