finasteride blocks conversion of test to dht; it doesn't bind to the receptors (in order to block the dht), so I don't think it would work.

why would you want to... topical solutions are messy and take time to dry, not to mention they dont get absorbed as well...

because ingesting finasteride has sides effects:
            1. limp dick
            2. loss of hair when you discontinue

since spironolactone gives sides when ingested but not when applied topically, i was wondering if the same would apply to finasteride.

the reported sides from #1 are fairly low; but I think on the boards it is higher, likely cause we're already screwing with our hormones, etc. in lots of other ways too. I've used it for about a year with no problem.

#2 would be the same with topical wouldn't it? (it is with rogaine, etc.)
