are you talking about producing IGF from a bacterium using a viral expression vector? It can be done. You just need to isolate the genetic material responsible for expressing IGF-1 or if you like you can work backwards by finding the amino acid sequence of the protien/protiens in IGF-1 and then engineering some mRna's to code for it. Then you throw that shit in a clean retrovirus and you're golden. They did it for insulin, they can do it here. it's just a matter of time. hell, if anyone sets me up with a full bio lab i could do it.

The key condition there was a full biochemistry lab.. which i don't and probably will never have access too.. they've already desequenced it, so most of the hard stuff is out of the way.

I have a friend with ALS - who is currently in a study on IGF-1. The viral delivery (vector) is still in animal testing. Just wondering if there is anyway we can bypass this process???
