My Derm wrote me a prescription for a body wash for acne. When I went to get it filled my insurance copay was 40.00. I didnt get it because I didnt really have the $ at the time and I thought 40.00 was a little high for soap. I was thinking about going ahead ahead and getting it but I was wondering if any one else has tried to use doctor prescribed body wash before I waste my $?

dont use anything harsh, a face wash called cetaphil is best. dry skin will make acne worse. when your skin is dry it will start to produce oil, when this happens get ready for a few days of oily skin and more acne. you want your skin not too dry and not to oily.
btw... i just got an antiboitic for my face today, i will let you know how it works.

I call it backne!! not back acne lol.

People don't understand that harsh stuff like rubbing alcohol and harsh soap makes it worse for a lot of people. Shower in the morning and after tanning or working out. Cetaphil is great for the face. Neutrogena acne body was works great for the body. I'd also recommend tanning three times a week. And using a body lotion after each shower when your tanning regularly. This routine works great for me and I'm very acne prone.

They're right...don't waste your money. You can get body washes at wal-mart or any cvs, eckerd, walgreens, etc. that will essentially serve the same purpose. For the face, I've been using Clean N Clear 2x/d for the past few months and haven't had a zit since (haven't cycled anabolics either though, just insulin, so take it with a grain of salt).

Don't rule out Clinique face soap. My brother and I both had acne growing up and the clinique has worked great. I use it along with minocycline or doxycycline....the doc changes them up every few months so I don't get used to them.
