how can an abscess be avoided?
what are signs of a developing abscess?

anyone get one of these? how'd it happen?

ALWAYS SWAB THE AREA BEFORE YOU INJECT AND AFTER YOU PULL OUT PUT THE ALCOHOL SWAB ON THE AREA AND PUT A BAND AID ON IT.JUST BE CLEAN AND KNOW WHAT TYPE OF GEAR YOU ARE USING. THE AREA WILL SWELL UP BE RED AND HARD AND USUALY GET A FEVER.

StupidBiotch knows all about it. some signs are a lump on the injection site, usually hard and puss filled. they can be caused by too much oil injected in one spot or dirty needles thus causing swelling and infection. let SB tell you, he's got pussonal experience with them

BECAUSE I DIDNT ATTEND TO IT UNTIL IT WAS TO LATE.I DIDNT HAVE ANY REDNESS JUST WAS HARD AND MY FEVER WOULD COME AND GO UNTIL ONE DAY THE FEVER STAYED AND IT WENT UP TO 104 AND MY WIFE DRAGGED ME TO THE HOSPITAL .AND THEN THEY DID A MRI TO FIND THE EXACT LOCATION AND THEN PUT A TUBE IN ME FOR 2 WEEKS SO IT COULD DRAIN. AND BY THE WAY DID I TELL YOU THAT I WAS IN THE WORST PAIN IN MY LIFE. AND HAD THE NURSE FROM HELL. THE ONLY GOOD THING WAS WHEN I GOT OUT THEY GAVE ME OXYCOTIN FOR THE PAIN AND I TOOK TRIPLE THE AMOUNT.NOW IAM BETTER AND SMARTER

yeah well it's good you are ok. thing is you went in with a problem and they sent you home with a bigger problem LOL be careful with those oxy's, i got on em' pretty bad, but managed to stop. some people are not so lucky, but i'm sure you've heard all this already

having anti- biotics on hand before you start a cycle is a good idea .....zpacks are good ..I had 2 infections on my last cycle

Abcesses can be caused by so much stuff. Your body can reject the gear. You could have gotten bacteria in your muscle by not sterilizing the injection site. You could have dirty gear. You could even have clean gear and gotten bacteria in it. Or you could have gear that has high alcohol in it and causes a big ass infection from muscular irritation.

An abcess is basically a big ass lump full of puss. I've had a couple... One caused by dirty ass gear. I was fortunate enough to be able to stick an 18 guage needle in my delt and drain out 12 cc's of puss over a two day period (if you call that fortunate).

I knew I had an abcess because my delt was swolen for a while and wasn't going down. I could flex it...and a big lump was sticking out. I'd touch the lump and I could push it down....like it was soft. NOT how a muscle should be when flexed. I drained puss out of it and all was well. But some abcesses aren't as easy.

Things to look for....

abnormal swelling.
Hot to the touch.
Pain in the area that lasts more than a week after injecting.

If you can't drain it yourself....and it gives you problems for more than a week....and it get's worse....go to your doctor....tell him what you did (at the very least tell him you injected B-12) and he'll give you antibiotics....which is what will heal it quickly.
I recently had a friend who got an abcess in his glute which spread to his spine and he almost died.
That's on the extreme end. For the most part they are treated easily. But just keep an eye on things.
Not everyone wants to stick an 18g needle in themselves and drain puss....so don't be afraid to go to the doc.
Even the cleanest gear and most cautious injection techniques can lead to muscular infections.
Just be aware.

Z-Packs are the shit – no doubt about it, but they are expensive and for most people hard to obtain. I suggest you keep injectable oxytetracycline on hand. It’s cheap as hell, easy to obtain, and works great – hurts like a ***** though.

i allways have a crap load of cipro around
