If I'm not mistaken, law dogs need to have probable cause and not just heresay. I could claim my neighbor is using crack but unless they (cops) actually see them doing it or buying it then it's just that - heresay. If your truly worried, clean house and wait it out. Better safe then sorry. My 2CC's worth.

I've actually asked a cop about that as well as cops in the Superior Court and nobody gives a shit. Really, they don't care that it's illegal, where you got it, if you sell, as long as you aren't blatantly obvious about it you're ok

No need to kick there ass. That would only get the police involved.

No need to call the cops and say they stoled something for the same reason as above.

I've talked to there boss and I feel a little better.

Yes they shouldn't be going through drawers but as we all know humans are curious. Anyone left alone in a new place will explore.

          Thanks for the replies.

I agree. If they're going in people's houses to work regularly when they're not home, they probably have to be bonded, etc. The company doesn't want/need people working for them that are going to ramble through the drawers and personal items of their customers. This reeks of criminal intent on the part of the repair guys and they would likely get fired or repremanded somhow. Possibly they have other similar complaints against them and yours could be the one they need to get the boot. Then keep the doors locked and the gun loaded.

Hate to disagree with everyone, but the police can search your house based upon a report given by a third-party. In fact it happens all the time. In most states a search warrant may be applied for by any prosecuting attorney or peace officer. The application will require an affidavit setting forth the grounds upon which the applicant believes the illegal substances are contained within the area to be searched. To the extent the applicant's information is based upon the word of an informant (as in this case) the applicant must set forth the grounds upon which the informant came upon the information.

To put it in context, the police could apply for a search warrant based upon the statement given by two repairmen who were inside your place when they saw the steroids. That is enough probable cause to get a warrant.

But don't take my word for it, below is an example of the language most states use to establish the requisites one must fulfill to apply for a search warrant.

"The application shall consist of a proposed warrant and shall be supported by one or more affidavits particularly setting forth the facts and circumstances tending to show that the objects of the search are in the places, or in the possession of the individuals, to be searched. If an affidavit is based in whole or in part on hearsay, the affiant shall set forth facts bearing on any unnamed informant’s reliability and shall disclose, as far as possible, the means by which the information was obtained."

Now if your house is clean, you don't have anything to worry about because they won't find anything. If they show up, which they probably won't because they have more important things to do, check to see when the warrant expires. They can come back and search again until the warrant expires.

a 911 dispatcher has a real phone # like everybody else. it wont come up 911 on a caller id, 911 is an inbound system. it will be a 7 digit # with an area code. somebody was paging his phone 911 or he had someones name stored as 911 and thats how his caller id showed it. but it wasnt the law.

mcbvr6 gave you the most correct answer. I would like to add just a bit.

Bottom line is this. The police COULD get a search warrant for your place IF they thought the information given to them was reliable enough in the affadavits. However...If the repair guys only saw your stuff, they may not even know what it is they were looking at. After all, pills and vials and syringes are used by anyone with a medical condition that requires them. For instance, people with chronic pain and diabetics. Few things to keep in mind. First, the police know damn well that if they search your place on the word of two repairmen who MIGHT have seen something illegal, and they find nothing, they're in deep shit. All you'd have to do is get you a good lawyer and some heads would roll. You have to understand that if anything ever did come out of this, the narco unit would have to prove in court that they gathered enough reliable information to make the search reasonable. I don't think the heresay from 2 repair guys would cut it. MAYBE if they saw like bags full of white powder packaged and sealed...but juice....I don't think so...Violating constitutional rights is a big deal in this country. (Ulawful search and seizure.)Second, depending on where you live (how big of a city) you can pretty much bet that the narcotis unit has WAY more important things to do than attempt a search for juice on the word of 2 repair guys. In other words, if you're not dealing, they don't give a damn about you.

Lastly, keep this in mind. MOST searches that result in seizures are the result of the cops using slick language and intimidation to make you think you HAVE to allow them to search your shit. Bottom line, without a search warrant, just say FUX YOU!! If they did come to your door without a warrant, your best bet would be to ask them if they're going to arrest you, and if they say no, then politely tell em to take a hike and that you have nothing to talk about and shut your door in their face.

                    Hope this helps bro.

But if he DIALED 911, then 911 would show up on the phone. What kind of dumbass calls 911 to report steroids? Then again, what kind of dumbass goes in somebody's house to work, then snoops around in their jock drawer?
