  • Insulin dependancy

I have searched around and found extensive great reads on insulin. Several times I noticed that individuals when talking about insulin point out that it's somewhat of a new thing among atheletes. But in fact atheletes have been using insulin, as far as I know, 10-15 years and I'm no bodybuilding historian by any means. With that being said. I would imagine over time there has either been some cases where users have become dependant or there have not. Does anyone have any solid info where an athelete has become dependant on insulin?

If you use it properly, the less chance you will have of developing diabetes. If you stay on for longer then you should, or do doses that are to high........then you might have trouble.
I'm only runnin mine 4 weeks on.......4 weeks off.
      max. dose of 13 iu/d

i have done research also and in pro bodybuilders who are pressured to use copious doses of all drugs it is possible but i am maxing out at 10iu on days i work out 1 month on 1 off. i havent seen anything saying if it is used in moderation it can cause dependency

That's the only qualm I have with it, and I can't find any case that it has caused dependancy so I guess it shouldn't be a worry.

          Another question.

I read that it is best that your immediate carb intake (shake) after injection should be simple carbs. Does this matter that much? My post workout shake is N-Large with outmeal. And N-Large does have 28g of sugar per serving which I usually don't go full serving. But those sugar carbs are the only simple carbs I'm getting aren't they? The milk is also simple carbs.

          Main question

Does it matter what kind of carbs?

you need 7-10 grams of high gi carbs immediately upon inject. i started with 90 grams of dextrose with 60 grams of whey and worked my way down to 70 grams of dextrose all with 10 iu of humalog. you need the fast sugar in your blood as the insulin level rises or you could go hypo before you get the carbs from milk or oat meal. dont chance it just get the dextrose and take it with whey and creatine. thats the best mix i have seen on all the boards. then eat a lowfat meal as the insulin is peaking about an hour after the shot if you are using humalog. i dropped to 60 grams of dextrose today and had to take 15 grams of glucose tabs to feel right again. better to be safe than dead i always say. dont take any chances.

n-large , i imagine has maltodextrin in it,which acts like a simple carb. Alot of bros drink n large soley post inj so i figure it has the proper carbs. Myself, i drink 50 gram whey protien, with 40 gram of dextrose, and 40 gram of maltodextrin. Alot cheaper than n large.

so it sounds like if I add 60-70 grams of dextrose in place of the oatmeal I should be all set
