1) So if it's naturally occuring it's not a drug?
2)
Diseases AS are used to treat:
Primary hypogonadism
Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism
Delayed puberty
Erectile Dysfunction
Osteoporosis
Cachexia (muscle waisting due to a chronic disease, such as AIDS)
"indicated for palliation of androgenresponsive
recurrent mammary cancer in
women who are more than one year but
less than five years postmenopausal, or
who have been proven to have a hormone-
dependent tumor as shown by previous
beneficial response to castration."
Lets look past AIDS
Besides, look at definition 2 and 3 of the Merriam-Webster definition. A drug doesn't have to cure a disease. Drugs can treat symptoms of diseases too. Back to the AIDS arguement, lets look at AZT. AZT doesn't cure HIV, but it can dramatically slow its progression. Are you telling me that it's not a drug? What about drugs such as Xanax, Valium, OxyContin, etc. They don't cure diseases, just treat symptoms. Are you telling me they're not drugs?
And BTW, why do you think so many different AS exist? Pharmaceutical companies (the people who make drugs
) didn't pour money into the research because they thought it would be fun.
3) I'm just curious what you would call anabolic steroids if you woudn't call them drugs? Even tylenol and aspirin are drugs. The problem isn't the classification, it's with the complete misunderstanding/lack of eduction in the public. THEY ARE DRUGS.
You're confusing the actual definition of drugs with the street definition of drugs.
