It depends upon what you are taking and what your goals are. For bulking I agree that long cycels are better. However in the spring and summer I do 6 week prop/tren cycles at 1g each a week. Even though the dose is pretty high, I recover within 5-6 weeks and start over. Most of the literature I have read on the subject says you don't really shut down all that hard until 7-8 weeks into your cycle. At six weeks you can get out and recover and keep what you gained (or lost in the case of fat). But again, I agree that for bulking cycles, longer is necessary to get the most out of it.

You’re talking about a 24 week cycle. I would bet you that a 10 week cycle with a 4 week break then another 10 weeks will give you better gains than just going 24 straight.
If your receptors shut down you’re not getting the full potential out of your cycle. Every experience juicer will tell you that your growth slows down at about the 10-12 week period. So why not clean your system for 4 weeks and let your receptor reopen so you could maximize your growth. I have recently finished this two 12 weeks cycles and my gains were the best I have ever achieved without feeling like I hit a wall. My body exploded when I came off the 4 week break.

4 weeks to recover?? I have never done a 10 week cycle then broke for 4 weeks......receptors can be hit from different sides so to speak. You have to mix it up......no one is saying a continuos cycle of lets say deca, is going to still work after 12 weeks. What I'm saying is that by adding different compounds and doses at different times in a cycle, will let the growing process continue well after 16......17.....even 20 weeks.

Papapump is just about right on the money. Most longtime users are not doing short cyc. and they are changing drugs. But what nobody has mentioned yet is that most long term users who continue to see results will cycle their doses at different times in the cyc. For example you hit it hard for about 6 weeks ( high doses, 1500-2000mg p/wk) then you cruise for 2-3 weeks at low doses, ( 200mg p/wk). This has been a little controversal, I know, but it works. It does not "clean" your receptors but it does make your body use the higher dose more effectively. I've been juicing for 17 years, and I've done it just about any way you can imagine and this makes the most sense for me.
