  • Alcohol and working out

    I was trying to find some articles on this particular topic here but couldnt. I was looking for some studies that show what alcohol does to your muscles and how it effects you when you are on AAS. I am not taking any AAS, but am very dedicated to working out and nutrition, but then the weekend comes and me and all the boys go out and usually i drink, not always getting drunk but havin a few beers, that wouldnt effect me as much as getting totally drunk would it? thanks for all your input in advance.

    Alcohol dehydrates the shit out of your body.

    Alcohol = depletion of water
    Muscles need water

    I doubt you will find a scientific study on booze and AS. Just think of a scientist doing a test on someone by giving someone a bunch AS and giving them all the booze they want .

    There is no way that would happen but if it did I bet that person could run for governer of Cali!

        alcohol will dehydrate you a bit but hydration returns the next day. The main issue you want to watch out for while on aas is liver damage. Alcohol and oral aas is very hard on the liver(depending on how much you drink/ how much aas you take at the same time). So watch out for that and moderation is key as said before

          I think moderation is the key. That applies to just about everything. I think having a little fun with your friends is much more healthy (mentally) than staying home and agonizing over your workout regimen and diet. JMO.

                I wouldn't do it when I'm on AAS I tend to need more water. I always feel thirsty and on my birthday I went out and drank a whole bottle of apple smirnof vodka. It took me a whole week to rcover man that was the longest hangover ever.

                      Personally, I haven't touched a drop of booze when on the AAS. I just order Pepsi/Coke and I save a ton of $$ at the same time. Just tell people that you're taking medication and can't mix it with alcohol if you get the 'peer' pressure. Got some pressure from my professor last night (she took our class out for drinks after the last class yesterday). I just drank Coke all night and feel great today.

                      One of the girls in my class noticed my "moon face" from water retention. She was a nurse or something back in Russia and kept asking me questions about my kidneys... I was glad she was concerned, but it was a bit awkward 'lying' on the fly.
                      I know nothing about any of this insanity... it's just a fun game to me.
