i personally dont see any significant gains when dealing with 65+ grams of carbs versus a low 30grams carbs post workout. Mines as basic as one could get (having done this for a hand full of years now) this the base of my post workout drink
Originally posted by AnotherUser damn bro, that's only a total of 2/3 cup oats around your workout, or about 36g (about 4g of which is fiber) of carbs! Do you recover enough from this?
Well I said Ive been using it for half a year, something must be going right with it aye?
What do you guys suggest if you are going on a low carb diet though? Is there anything better than just water + 2 scoops protein, that doesn't have many carbs? Or does taking carbs post-workout not really effect your keto diet?
Originally posted by YellowJacket Wow man, are you serious? Drop the milk, it slows down digestion, drop the banana, its fructose which does nothing for refilling muscle glycogen, and drop the peanut butter, it contains fat which slows digestion and you really do not want it post workout.
Have your whey in water with some dextrose/malto. or oatmeal.
Guys - any suggestions on the best place to round up dextrose and malto-dextrin? I know they are both baking ingredients, but a quick search on the net pulled up all commercial suppliers (don't need 50# bags hanging around the house! ).
NOW foods 2 lb bags of dextrose and their carbo power (malt). Vitaglo one site i use to grab them. Also, supplementdirect has great prices but shipping can get hefty
