What you are looking for is Acetyl L-Carnitine. Yes it is legal and available at most health Food Stores. And it is expensive as HELL! So get ready to fork out some Cash. R-ALA I believe is the natural form of ALA (Alpha lipoic acid) but I believe there is a difference.
