We already knew it was not an all day protein. Morning upon wakeup, before and after gym for me, ONLY.

*** Mudge, you're clearly missing the point. The point of the article was to debunk the myth that whey protein is superior to casein protein.

Looking closer, you'll note that just because whey is absorbed quickly doesn't mean that it is used efficiently. Therefore using it upon "wakeup," and "before and after the gym" may not be the most effective whey of consuming this protein.

            Just a thought......

im going to buy lowfat dry milk instead of whey, this month. someone at the gym mentioned this, and its 24g of protein per serving. its milk protein, so it will get used in the body.
              heres the mix:
              dry milk powder
              milk, egg whites, bananna,
or other things that may make it taste better.

              about 50grams of protein ATLEAST.

I dont disagree with the following at all

The study performed by Boirie et al. (1997) found evidence to suggest that casein is superior to whey for promoting a positive protein balance. But that doesn’t necessarily mean it will build muscle any better than whey, or a chicken breast meat, for that matter.

Protein supplement ads and articles frequently cite Biological Value (BV) numbers (e.g., 104 and sometimes even higher) for whey as evidence for its superiority; however, these BV values were derived from studies on hair- and feather-covered animals that require more of the sulfur-containing amino acids that whey is rich in. These results do NOT apply to humans.

I'm convinced that eggs are better than fish, and that whey is better than soy, and that vegetable proteins need to be combined so one has a complete amino acid profile to assimilate new protein.

These studies split hairs. The differences are only measurable from the point of view of whomever is doing the study.

The differences are not great enough that you would ever see the difference in the size of your bicep, etc...

I'm so sick and tired of hype.

Eat well, eat clean, eat often. Supplement with any good whey or egg based protein product if necessary - I generally go with whatever is on special or cheapest.

                      The rest is BS.

It sounds all good, but I feel like crap when I drink milk. The only dairy I eat is some cottage cheese before bed.

I've switched to ProBlend 55 by HDT. It has a blend of whey, casien, and egg protien.
The burden of originality is one that most people don't want to accept. They'd rather sit in front of the TV and let that tell them what they are suppose to like, what they're suppose to buy, and what they're suppose to laugh at. You have Beavis and Butthead telling you what music you're allowed to like and not like, and you've got sitcoms that have canned laughter that lets you know when to laugh if you're too stupid to know when the joke is. People are too lazy and too stupid to think for themselves because America has raised them that way.
