is it illegal to have fake gear?

i just recieved some gear, and its fucking fake. it got me thinking though. if i got busted with this stuff by chance could i tell them its fake and make them run labs on my gear? and if it came back as olive oil or something what would happen to me?

They may be able to get him for trying to buy steroids, and in my opinion that would only work in a sting type situation: drugs/prostitution, and they would already have arrested him.

What he has in his possession it totally legal, and not subject to any law. Its like if I carry my baking powder in kilos that look like coke, or my oregano in dime bags. Its legal.

And in Canada you could even possess real gear just not buy/sell gear: “Yes I found my gear on the street officer”

There is some law involving the sale of fake narcotics. This probably falls under the same law. You could posess all the fake gear you want, but if you tried to sell it you'd get busted for "selling a facsimile of a controlled substance" or something stupid like that.

I think they can bust him for having just vials i.e intent. The courts could argue he put the fake shit in the vials. Just a thought, not an attorney...

Speaking as a law enforcement officer there are laws in place that cover such things. If you try to pass a substance off as an AAS and it is packaged as such you will be charged with the same crimes even though the item is a fake.
