  • Decreased sex drive from Nolvadex?

    Hey guys!

I recently put my workout partner on Nolvadex. 25mg ED. He was complaining of sore nips.

It's 2 weeks later and his nips are still a little sore, but way better.

Anyways, he's complaining about having no sex drive since he started taking the Nolva. He can still get it up and stuff, but says he just doesn't "want sex".

    His cycle is:
    Week 1-4 Dbol 30mg ED
    Week 1-10 500mg/wk Test
    week 1-10 300mg/wk Deca

It's now week 11. He started Nolva week 9.

    Clomid starts week 13.

I've never had to take Nolvadex myself so I'm not familiar with the sides. However, I've never heard anyone mention a decrease in sex drive as a nolvadex symptom.

Any ideas or suggestions? I'm thinking it's just in his head.

Yeah, see that's exactly what I'd expect to happen. But what he's claiming is completely the opposite.

He had no sex drive problems while his nips were sore. Only once he started taking the Nolva.

Like I said, I'm thinking it's all in his head.

I'm new to all this, and have never even done a cycle yet, but isn't that to be expected when you drop the test? Or was he still taking test?

He didn't do his weekly shot on Monday as his cycle is almost over. But he started complaining about this before his last test injection. I'd still expect his blood test levels to be high. That's why clomid doesn't start for another 2 weeks.

I didnt lose my sex drive until i was started with clomid. I was on 500 mg/wk enth. I used both clomid, and nolva for post cycle, and must say my sex drive did disapear, but I think that was from the test wearing off, and my boys not back to normal yet. Im almost finished with post now, and my boys are back and the sex drive is increasing, and im still taking nolva. I think youre right its in his head. But good luck

High estrogen and progesterone can cause a decrease in sex drive. Although he is taking Nolva for the estrogen is progesterone levels might be high. I say might because that really is a low amout of deca and usually doesn't cause progesterone problems.

Have either of you considered that the sore nips might be caused by the deca? If so it may be a high progesterone level and Nolva will not help. If this is the case Bromocriptine must me used.

Well, maybe he's shut down from running Deca for 10 weeks and most of the baseline Test has cleared his system now that he's in week 11 so his testosterone levels are low. Low testosterone = low sex drive (steriods 101). The nolva has nothing to do with it. In fact, it might help restore his sex drive since Nolva helps recover the HPTA.
