  • BPH (Prostate Enlarment) and DHT

The more I read about it the more I think estrogen is the true culprit of benign prostate hyperplasia. It just makes sence. How could DHT be the reason most man over 60 have BHT if at that age their testosterone production is at their live's lowest, thus their DHT levels must be at their lowest too!?
It makes more sense that a shift in the estrogen to testosterone balance would cause the enlargement of the prostate. I'm not sure the body can produce DHT other than throught the 5-alpha reductase mechanics...

Yeah but DHT levels can't be any higher than now and we don't get BPH at age 25... My theory is we don't get it because our e levels are low now compared to when we hit 55...
