I need a step by step or a youtube video on how to do the syringe filter.
    Thanks

    Re: syringe filter

Back when I brewed I used a 60cc syringe and filtered through a .45 then a .22. I made a wooden thing that I notched to set the filter in so that i could push the plunger straight down into the 50ml jug without having to squeeze with my fingers. Trying to filter 50ml through a .22 wrecked your fingers.

Here is a vid I do not know how good it is as I did not have time to watch it. Good luck in your brewing. I always thought it was fun and miss brewing my own gear. I felt like a mad scientist.

        Do this going that route.

        Get 60ml Termo syringe
Get millipore syringe filter cause it's bigger volume at time or use what floats your boat.

        Get caulk gun.
Get 50ml sterile vial or bigger.
In caulk gun Termo syringe filter can be filled with 47ml at time to fit inside.
Get a rod and big fat rubber bands
Use them to hold rod around caulk gun and vial to rod to hang below.

Use a 20ga needle attached to filter going into vial and a 20ga or 20 ga to use as vent vial while filling with syringe filter.
        I used 21ga with 23ga vent before.

        Get your gear.
Weight it out. Look up standard recipes and follow say for 50ml at time of whatever.
        Use 15% BB
        And 2% BA
So get weight of raw, volume quantity, and calculate or use proven recipe.

Put desired amount of powder into glass beaker.
Add proper amounts of bb and ba.
I put on stove I get a skillet put an inch of water and turn on medium and out beaker in middle. I adjust heat accordingly.
I only heat until completely clear.
        I never have checked temp.

At same time I put measured amount of carrier oil in seperate beaker in oven at 200 degrees for around 20 minutes.

I remove add both together and put into oven at around 200 degrees for a few minutes.
I never let get hotter than 150-170 degrees.
That I measure with cooking thermometer inside of empty vial on surface.
MAKE NO CONTACT WITH ANYTHING METAL!!!

I let cool to around 120 degrees and filter thru bottle top with vac pump or syringe filter.

Here us photo if syringe filter caulk set up.
U crank a little now and then, no pain on finger. Rig 2 or 3 at time if u like.
Hang caulk gun in a cabinet or whatever.

This route it stays sterile going into sterile vial. U can always put into 10ml vials and can change rubber and recrimp new safety top. Soak rubber in 70% alcohol let dry change out. Also I dip metal top crimpable piece in alcohol and wipe.

I have done this route and it's easy.
I do same with bottle top zap cap and media bottle. I only sterilize media bottle and I draw out with pipette to fill vials then crimp with sterile rubber of course.
Instead of sterilizing vials I buy sterile and remove metal crimped piece remove rubber replace with new sterilized rubber I soak dry put on then crimp.

I have done this for personal use only in past. So top not important to have safety top but I just told u how that is changed to have.
        Crimp tool?? Lol!!
A butter knife bending around with pressure pushing on tip with finger no one can tell. I have other things I made as easier cheap crimp tool.

        Hope this helped u.

            Supplies needed.
            - Termo 60ml syringe
            - sterile needles to connect to filter and to vent vial 20ga to 23ga
            Syringe filters.
            - I personally use .45um with syringe route never had an issue ever!!
Used .22um in caulk gun too.
            - a brand new clean caulk gun. Wipe with alcohol pads.
            - box of alcohol pads
            - pack of cotton pads
            - 70% alcohol and 90% too
            - 2 glass beakers
            - dial soap to wash beaker
            - distilled water to rinse after washing.
            - spray bottles to spray with distilled water then alcohol to clean beakers. I do this even though it's being filtered from beaker.
            - 50ml sterile vials or bigger.
            - BB (benzoylbenzate)
            - BA ( benzoyl Alcohol)
            - carrier oil GSO, MCT, Cottonseed, etc etc.......
-sterile gloves latex or whatever I get a pack or box
            - preferably a glass thermometer for liquids
            - a digital scale that can weight point whatever of a gram sensitivety.
            - a nickel 5 grams to celebrate scale
-rubber bands or zip ties whatever u choose to hold it.

            That is about it!!

Even better method is to use electric caulk gun. That's what I used back in the day with the same steps basically as above.

I used vac pump I set up with Zap cap bottle top into media.
It's a hand pump but is Caterpillar primer pump for diesel fuel.
It's brand new clean and only fits into suction anyway.
I am very mechanicly inclined and a real mechanic
I can make or convert even a nebulizer into a electric vac pump with a pressure gauge on/ off wired in switch at desired pressure or a real vac pump just speaking of my wits!!!
The best route in large volume is capsule filter with electric vac on vented media with vac attach cap with in and out
Peristaltic pump thru capsule best but still need vac to pull around 30ml left behind that can't pump.
                Lol!!
I deal with this in my job with fuel systems and air compressor vac scavenger lines.

But I only played around for personal and to beat available quality in past.
Everytime I brewed quality seemed better than most.....

This is a very simple very simple but delicate thing!!! U routes to get say water filtered and sterile or ... mixed then sterile, these routes easy and to be honest I never had trouble with .44um or whatever in syringe filter as long as u have BA at 2% and have AREA CLEAN AND ALL ITEMS EVEN ON BEAKER SIDE!!

The best easiest route is zap cap then I would use .22um.
This route u use media bottle.
Zap cap has vac hook up.
U wet seal with sterile oil. I grab my gear out vial and use 1/4 ml
I tape with packing tape to hold down and make good seal.
                    Any good hand pump works.
                    Buy sterile vials.
                    Fill and vent each vial
Or remove whole top fill and recrimp

U only need to soak rubber vial seal for 10min in alcohol. Then let dry on sterile glass turned on side for example.
I only soak for a few minutes in 90%
                    Never issue

I never back after only as stated before in above post.

This is easiest fastest route to brew 100ml or whatever bottle top can have for myself I run deca first then tren then test
Squirt 3-5ml and pull it thru after each batch but make your volume that much less to come out right after

But I have and my way was only for myself so critics aren't necessary
                      Sterile is sterile period
A clean area with air vented or pulled away important

Not my invention, found it searching Web years ago and tried it!!

Use a millipore with a vac pump!(much easier) If u use a smaller plunger/syringe than a 60ml...Its a lot less stress on fingers etc!
When u use bot top filters!
Everything I say is Roll Play!
