The first 5 years of hardcore BBing training i think squats are a must. After that you can replace them every once in a while with other exercises. I mean bbing training, not screwing around or lifting on and off during the year. Quads can see good results off of deep squats. In all honesty you could do 8 sets of heavy squats, and go home for legs and still see good growth, but BBers like to take things to extremes so we do to an uperwards of 20 sets.

and variations of it. Front squats will give your quads a work. I dont like the smith, but squatting with your legs in front of your body, and deeeeeep, is a great one as well. Lastly, drop sets of leg extentions (i personally go several sets for a total of 25 reps) will shock them right back into growing. Sage

High rep sqaut, leg presses, hack squats, and leg extensions. Throw in some high rep lunges, and your ass and quads should be good to go.

i agree with everything...you seriously have to squat, though, and put all other variations as something to try once in a while.

I agree with the high rep squats...

If you can't grow off a routine based upon high rep squats, you aren't gonna grow off of anything, no matter how fancy it is.

If you want massive legs you have to squat. There is no two ways about it. Why not try something like this on leg day?

                        squats...6 sets...20,15,10,8,6,4 reps
                        leg curls...3 sets...8-10 reps
                        leg extensions...3 sets...8-10 reps

Start with a light weight and work your way up in weight once you hit that 10 rep set. Then pyramid to your max.
