
Yesterday at Chile’s national Paralympic powerlifting championships, Juan Carlos Garrido, Frank Feliú, Camila Campos and Marion Serrano all set new national powerlifting records at the Centro de Entrenamiento Olímpico de Santiago. The national Paralympic powerlifting championship included 13 competitors.
Rio bound Garrido’s record was 190kg, set on his third successful lift of the competition after previously lifting 180kg and 185kg. Feliú set a new record of 180kgs on his second successful lift, but was unable to better it on his third attempt at 187kg. Like Feliú , Campos set a national record, hers of 88kg, on her second successful lift. She tried to better than on her third attempt with a lift of 91kg but was unsuccessful. Campos is an experienced international lifter, winning silver earlier this year at the IPC World Cup in Rio de Janeiro.
