"The sunny and green city of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico is playing host to the IPF World Open Powerlifting Championships! Day 1 of the competition had 5 weight classes competing for the Gold, 3 of those classes were women and 2 men.Women
The 47kg women had 6 lifters competing, 2 of those lifters were chasing each other for the overall Gold, Yukako Fukushima from Japan who got inducted into the IPF Hall of Fame this year were on the heels of Wei-Ling Chen from Chinese-Taipei who got inducted last year. Chen squatted a World Record of 190kg for 1st place in squat while Fukushima just got her last bench in of 117,5kg to stay in the competition. In the end Chen won the Overall Gold with a 180kg deadlift to beat Fukushima with a mere 5kg for the World Championship!
