    May stop myself, hurts my lower back and I actually use good form and wear a belt. May be relegated to leg press and weighted lunges. Although plyos are good too. I do sprints in the sand and that kills your glutes and hammys better than anything I have ever done.

      for those with a tweaked back, warm up with good mornings before squatting! don't go for a 1RM or anything, just get some heavy weight on your back for a few sets of 8-10, then squat....been doing that for a few months and low back pain is completly gone.

      imo, you can still build good size quads without them, but its just an overall good exercise being the amount of stabilizer muscles involved in the lift. but if chronic knee pain is an issue and you have perfect form, stick to a leg press or hack squats.
