In evaluating my bench press #'s I noted I worked in the 85% range and above 4x this past month.Closer to 95%.So some time off is in order.I'll come back and do 60-70% speed work with 1set in the 80-85% range and change the lifts around some.Should work!

Re: TIME OFF
It's a 2awk program I picked up over at IA.com. Prior to the past 2 wks I was on a 3xwk for about 6wks. I feel pretty good overall, just going back in my log was kind of an eye opener. I may just work legs and back, those areas I need to hit the hardest. With training #'s in the high 2's for both DL and squat,I'm still a relative beginner with these.I use the box squat primarily and sumo style DL. My max bench press is 335 max on squat 355 and DL 405.These are woefully inadequate I feel.My bench is probably at it's zenith,I'm just too stubborn to accept it.Just knockin' 'round the zoo

Re: TIME OFF
i think your making a correlation between working hard and getting sick that isn't really there. I believe you using the old this stone keeps lions away because there are no lions around theory. chances are you would have gotten sick whether you would have worked out or not bro. I really think maybe you should get away from the workout your on now and go to something more tradition. The workout you are using works good for powerlifters because they are mostly training for one specific event. I think you would benefit much better from a 4 day a week routine only hitting 1 body part per day and rotating your heavy day from one body part each week between the 3 major muscle group so every three weeks you are working the same muscle heavy and then giving it 2 weeks with lighter work in the middle. If your interested in something like this let me know and i can help you get a routine setup. It's a great routine for moderate to experienced lifters.

Re: TIME OFF
I take off every 6 weeks and do nothing!!, i mean nothing, i make my daughter go out and get the mail. I didn't take proper rest intervals in the old days powerlifting and paid for it dearly. Once i started resting i got my bench up to 425. I dunno, play around with that brother.

Re: TIME OFF
I've been concentrating on the squat specifically the box squat and the dead lift. This past week I hit a new PR for the box squat by getting 373 for 1 rep! Needless to say I am EXSTATIC! I'm feeling alot stronger in both at this time,I hope to hit my all time goal of 400 in the box squat maybe in 2 months, but I am taking it easy and slow. The DL I hope to get 450 by next month, but as I said I'll take it slow.As for the Bench press, I am working on form, speed, and increasing the strength of my lats;i.e,in the chinups, and bent rows. Also for the military press seated version, I want that in the 225-250 range. Thanks to all and God bless.Just knockin' 'round the zoo
