100% RAW President Paul Bossi has responded to concerns that some members have registered to the addition of Iran and Pakistan as affiliates to the federation. Those concerns center around both the hostage crisis and the current political climate in Iran and Pakistan. Bossi encourages members to focus on powerlifting and not politics.
Bossi, "Due to circumstances beyond all of our control there are issues with the fact that Iran wants to support 100% RAW and run meets in their country. I do not think I will be traveling there anytime soon to lift or officiate but I would like to see them grow their chapter of 100% RAW and run meets. I would like to see how our numbers match up against their's and see where this all goes down the road. Yes I am sure this hits home with some lifters more than others and I can respect that. I had one of our well respected master lifters e-mail me directly which I totally respect and appreciate with his response. We do not need to air dirty laundry from things that happened before some of us were born on this forum. Please e-mail me directly and we can discuss this. I am sorry if this offends anyone but you all know as the President of 100% RAW I do not like bashing anyone, other federations, lifters who use chemicals or other countries. Guys we are here to lift and as for lifting advice and promote lifting. There are lots of countries who do not like the USA and none of us would want to read this on their forums. Could you imagine if the IPF forum had a bunch of lifters from other countries talk negative about the USA. Then you have to go oversees to compete in the Worlds. That would not go over very well with our lifters as there might be some fear for their own safety. We have no control over what our government does and if people around the world disagree is it fair for them to not like us as lifters for those actions. Don't get me wrong I love our country and and will not ever air out my differences if I agree or disagree with our leaders decisions. This is why I just want to keep this forum to lifting and not talk negative about anything."
