Rob Luyando, 275, bench pressed 914 pounds while guest lifting at the UPA Nationals. He missed 881 pounds on his opener but came back to hit it on his second attempt. He then made the 914 before an unsuccessful fourth attempt at 960 pounds. Luyando's best, competing as a 308, is 914 pounds. He's also been successful at 909 pounds as a 275. The effort also ends a streak of two straight meets where the usually consistent Luyando was unable to register a lift.
