  • Those of you in PA.

I'm currently completing my internship towards my B.S in exercise science. When I was required to do a project which would require the bulk of my time over the next few months I couldn't think of anything better then to have it directly related to a sport that I love to compete in, and a cause that I am a huge supporter of. With that in mind, I'm going to have a Bench Press meet for charity this summer. The proceeds are going to be donated to the regional Cancer Center. I already have a TON of sponsors lined up so this should be a GREAT meet! If you are within a few hours drive of the Erie, PA area please come out and show your support for this great cause!

So far the list of sponsors:

    Nautilus Fitness and Racquet Club
    Family First Sports Park
    House of Pain
    Iron Asylum Gym
    Skullptures by Carl Seeker
    Bodybuilding.com
    Vitamin World
    Powerlifting USA

And the list CONTINUES to grow! This will be a raw, non-sanctioned meet, but I am going to do my best to make sure it is a great one. Food and drink will be available for the athletes, we will be having a HUGE chinese auction for all the donated items we are receiving, awards to 1st through 3rd in all divisions. The meet location will be:

    Family First Sports Park www.thesportspark.com
8155 Oliver Road Erie, PA 16509
Sunday, July 29th (lifting to start at 11:00AM)

Cost: $20 for adults, $15 for teenagers

    814-459-3033 or bebasshome1@yahoo.com.

I will be in and out of the office over the next few weeks passing out forms locally, but if you email me, I should get back to you within the same day.

When is the contest? Also, what is the cost to enter? I am over here in the dirty Jerz, but for a good cause I could take a trip out to Erie. My aunt just passed away this morning from breast/lung/bone/brain cancer. My mom is a cancer survivor and so is my future mom-in-law. I am always interested in doing something to help raise money and/or awareness.

Sorry to hear it man. I've lost two uncles, an aunt and a grandmother to cancer. I think everyone's been hit by it in some way.

**** man. I can only bench about 455 at 266 so I ain't nothing special either, but wtf...it would give me a goal to shoot for. And, the contest ain't til July so I'm sure that I could probably put another 50 pounds on my bench if I trained solely for benching power between now and then.

After everything calms down around here...I have the funeral tomorrow...I will talk it over with my girl and see if we have anything planned for that weekend and I will get back to here to let you know what I'm doing.

Yeah sounds good bro, let me know, might be an overnight trip if it is that far.

Yeah if I compete I need to get on my bench hard though, I have not been lifting heavy at all lately.......415 might kick my butt right now, not sure have to find out!

Sorry for such a ****ty weather day for a funeral bro, keep your head up bro, way up!!!
