WPO out of the Arnold

Public reports started circulating yesterday morning with a comment here at Powerlifting Watch that the WPO had been replaced by the USAPL at the Arnold Classic.

A poster at Fortified Iron says that Jim Wendler has confirmed that information.

Arnold organizer Jim Lorimer and WPO President Kieran Kidder met last week. Thus far, there's been no official word from either organization or the USAPL.

Reports are that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lorimer are being pressured to include drug testing in the wake of last year's Bodybuilding show winner, Victor Martinez, being linked to a recent steroid scandal.

well if they start to drug test the bb then there will be no Arnold..lol...so go ahead and ruin it ....

exactly. People wanna see the freaks. Now I'm no fan of the WPO or KK, but replacing them with a drug tested federation is just stupid! When people are used to seeing 1000+pound squats, 900+pound benches and the latest 1000 pound deadlift, who's gonna give a fukk about the numbers tested guys are puttin up? Same goes for the bodybuilders, are they gonna replace the freaks with some cats you can see at any gym at any time?

Guys its cool.remember what louie said. there are drug tested meets but there are no such thing as drug free events... ie. the olympics
