I have no idea why the taste is so great. To be honest, its kind of bland but it draws me in for more. I can't have a garden salad unless they are on it either.

my neighbor is from Romania one day I was over the house and she hooked me up with a hugh bowl of them .I guess there pretty popular there anyway just to prepare any one who hasn't had them before. they make you crap blood red and gave me a bit of worry until I realized it was those dam beets..
