  • Cutting W/ Cottage Cheese A Yes Or A No?

i noticed that fat free cottage cheese has about 400mg or more of sodium per serving. now when i eat cottage cheese im typically downing at least 4 servings worth, and thats a lot of sodium. so should i cut the cottage cheese intake completely on a cutting diet?

Do they sell lower sodium kind? Maybe try some Greek Yogurt?

Why are you worried about sodium? Do you have high blood pressure? Are you drinking enough water? I hi early don't see why you would worry about this if other things are in place. Sodium helps aid in muscle function when you are depleted. You wouldn't believe me if I told you how much sodium I I take and hold next to no water.

well back when i had a trainer a few years ago he pushed for cutting diets to have no sugar, and very little sodium. one of the things he taught me was any product that has over 150mg per serving of sodium to stay away from due to bloat. im not trying to eliminate sodium just reduce it, but you have peaked my interest here.

in addition i had people around me always state "sodium is your enemy" while on a cut.

i take it from you all that i should keep this in my diet, which is comforting.

Cottage cheese is a great bbing dieting food that all should use.Non-fat cottage cheese doesnt have that much sodium at all actually.

Besides,as the others have stated, sodium will only play a major role in dieting if you are tryinhg to prep for a show but aside from that its consumption is not that big a deal as long as you keep your overall intake moderate.

Here's a link to some great cottage cheese recipes for you try that really do taste great..............

The only time I start totally cutting out sodium is a couple weeks out. Otherwise I dont worry about it much. I mean, I limit it, Im not running out and eating potato chips

I don't agree with this at all. I agree it should be cut a week or so out but if your still making gains with it at 10 weeks out why should you cut it? Save that for when you hit a plateau.

Absolutely keep it on your body. Answer this question. If you eliminate sodium even 2 weeks out what are you gonna do the day before to help you dry out? If you still had sodium in your diet you could cut it and get dry as a bone. Also sodium will only bloat you if you aren't drinking enough water. Drink 2 gallons a day for a week and tell me how bloated you are.
