  • need to restock

Looking at filling the cabinet back up with more supps but wondering if there are things I should be using. I hear people talk about bcaa, but haven't a clue what they are and do. Was browsing true nutrition and saw a bunch of items that sound promising but know very little about them.

Currently my daily regimen looks something like this:

    Morning
    Multi vitamin
    2g fish oil(EPA/dha)
    Glucosamine/chon combo with msm(1500/1200/2000)
    Milk thistle (525Mg)
    Vit c (1 gram)

    Evening
    1g fish oil
    vit c (1g)
    Calcium

I think that's it, though I might chime in later because my memory sucks (time for a ginko boloba joke)

    Looks pretty good bro.
You cant go wrong supplementing with BCAAs.
You might want to consider some glutamine and 400 mg of magnesium. Also D3 is cheap and important for everyone to take.
A good Nitric Oxide supp can be helpful for your muscle pumps. N-O Reload is one I got at True Nutrition and its good.
NO Xplode by BSN is another decent one. Many have creatine included in it.
Theres no end to how many good supplements you could take, it all comes down to how much you want to spend each month and prioritizing.
    Hope that helps.

      Re: need to restock

I am a believer in BCAA's, EAA's and glutamine. I know research suggests that glutamine supplementation is not worth the cost, but from my experience I disagree. I use 10g of glutamine and creatine in my PWO shake everyday and have for years. I believe it helps in recovery.

BCAA's and EAA's I use in my pre and peri workout drink and in water when doing cardio only to prevent catabolism. Neither are cheap when you buy them but last quite a while if only using 5g of each a day. I buy 3-5 pounds of each and had always flavored them with a citrus flavor such as Premium Limeade, Old Fashioned Lemonade or Orange Juice Indulgene. I just bought 3 pounds of each in Premium Concord Grape flavored heavy and that is the only way I will buy them moving forward.

I also run a much higher amount of fish oil, 20g a day minimum. Fish oil is inexpensive and has many health benefits.

Damn Anabolic.. 20g's of Fish oil. I do 8-10g's per day and thought that was a heavy dose.

BCAA's are definitely next on my list, haven't heard to much about EAA's so I need to read up there. I'm also looking into a veggie powder, pretty exspensive but I think it'll be worth a try at least. I know TGB carries it, but I forgot the name, I know TGB takes it himself though because we talked about it. Maybe he'll see this and remind me ha ha.

30g a day is probably where I am at most of the time. I buy in bulk from TN and get 5000 at a time. Keep them in the freezer and they last forever. My damn kitchen pantry looks like a TN showroom.

I was chatting with a well respected NPC competitor on another site and he recommended EAA's as well as BCAA's and I took his advice. I think it helps mixing the too, have no hard proof but I feel better, and that is the key. His success is proof enough to me that he knows what he is talking about.

Knowing you take it, believe in it, and feel results from it is "proof" enough for me Brother. I know you suggested this to me a long time ago, and I got caught up in "brands", but TN is looking like a one stop shop for me soon...

I would definitely add some magnesium to your regimen. Possible a good calcium/magnesium combo. I also think a good probiotic is a must as a healthy gut is key to a healthy body.

i use bcaas pre and post workout. in fact, still use the old school twin lab liquid formula (3 tspns pre and post). branch chain aminos are (and should be) a staple. jmho

                          Re: need to restock

We carry BSN Amino X for less than $19 for 30 servings. I use this for my BCAA's 10grams a serving . I also use the BPI BLox which is much more pricey but is supposed to work a lot better due to the silk amino acid sequence. To tell you the truth I am not sold on this yet. I think it is better than a standard amino or BCAA but not as good as they claim. I take the blox 2-3 times a day and the Amino X 1-2 times a day. Blox runs 32.99 for 30 servings on our website. The Greens you were talking about Ezskanken are by SAN and they are called Green Supreme here is a link to more info from the site San Green Supreme Fusion - TGB .

As of now my supplement routine looks like this

Black Lion Research Formeron 1 pump per day applied to calves or Forearms
Gaspari Anavite or Nutrakey Envie depends on day and how I feel
SAN supreme greens 1 scoop with breakfast
IronMagLabs Advanced Cycle Support 2 caps a day
Primaforce Insopro ( R-ALA) 1 cap with meals
Universal Animal Omega 1 pack per day for my fish oils
BPI Blox 2-3 times per day
BSN amino X 1-2 times per day
Black Lion Research Acnedren 3 caps a day
MHP Glutamine 1 scoop with every protein shake
Labrada Creatine Monohydrate 10 grams a day with protein
Primaforce Taurine 1 scoop pre workout shake and 1 scoop with post workout shake
Protein I use BSN Syntha-6 and Gaspari Intrapro (isolate) 2-3 protein shakes a day
When I use a preworkout it has been the newly reformulated Universal Shock Therapy (great pump product)

I think that is everything. Now that I see it listed it seems like a lot lol.
