  • Easing off a caffeine rush?

Anything natural to take to slow down that rush? Obviously my first thought was "don't take so much pre-workout" but I only take the recommended dose but i am gonna take half of what is recommended next time. Is there anything to counteract the rush of caffeine to reverse or slow it down in your body? I started taking 1MR and that stuff is incredible for my workouts, or atleast the past two have been great, but it seems as if the caffeine side of it wants to linger around for hours and i want my body to slow down after my workout due to being later in the evening. Anyway, just thought i might get some thoughts on it.

xanax mixed with vodka is always a good kick in reverse for that dreaded caffeine high. Seriously though, there was an old wise tale that taking a low milligram dose of aspirin (81mg) and drinking a decent amount of water (24ml or so) will dilute the caffeine in your system enough to kill the buzz. Whether its true or not, I couldn't tell you.

Honestly, I am usually dragging whenever i get to the gym at 6:30pm, not all the time but most. I usually take some pwo before to have that boost to get through it and i switched over to 1MR and that stuff is serious business, makes me feel like i could work out for days but i have to make myself leave after 2 hours but that stuff keeps me going well beyond the 2 hour mark, i am almost certain it is the caffeine, it has 300mg per scoop and the scoop is very small. Like i said, i don't have to take it but it works wonders, and when i do take it it sticks with me for a long time and i think it may be caffeine??

I Take 2 melatonin at night to help me go to sleep. It's a natural hormone and not a sleep drug.

Personally i would just taper the dose off, til u dont need it to workout. Thats a part of your supplement bill that u could allocate to better sups.

i like the way you think! I actually went to the gym tonite and didn't get there till almost 9pm and didn't take anything but my protein shake on the way there, didn't BS around a put in a quick back w/o with no prob. I think i am gonna try and sell some of my pwo stuff to someone at the gym that likes it and invest that money back in some good protein.

Good call, add some dextrose powder to your list as well for PWO shakes if not on already.

About 2-3 times per week i take an eca stack. My workouts are much more intense with this but, as you say, sometimes it sticks around too long. As mentioned about, i drink alot of water and gatoraide during and after the workout and i think it helps.

Either workout in the early am- then you can use the extra energy at work or the rest of your day. Personally Id never take stims that late at night as a rule. However its not really a rush- you are stimulated- so you need something to relax- you can go herbal and use something to relax and there is plenty out there. or you can see a doc and depending how serious the issue you get a tanquilizer like xanax or clonezepam - or you can get an otc sleepin pill or try meletonin, valerian root, chamomile - Ill bet they sell a combo will those in it. You are stmulated now you need to relax or you workout early its really a very simple solution. There is no reversing the rush- there is relaxing that simple.
