  • Coffee: Another Cup for a Healthy Up

Over the years coffee has been maligned as a trigger for high blood pressure and other health maladies. Recently, however, studies show it to be just the opposite—a veritable gold mine of antioxidants that can repair and cure.
According to the September 2010 Prevention, the more you drink, the more you benefit healthwise—up to a point, of course:
Drink at least one cup of coffee a day, and you can lower your risk of early death from all causes by almost 40 percent.
Drink at least two cups a day, and you can reduce your risk of death from heart disease by 25 percent.
Drink at least three cups a day, and you cut your risk of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia by about 65 percent.
Drink four or more cups a day, and you are more than 50 percent less likely to develop type 2 diabetes.
The caffeine in coffee, of course, can give you energy for your workouts and help you burn more fat. Perk up to live longer, leaner and healthier.
