    Setting calories at too low a level will stall your metabolism. This leads to the body holding onto its' fat (like a fat boy at the all you can eat ice cream buffet) and catabolizing muscle tissue. NOT GOOD........
    Keep protein intake up and evenly spaced to avoid blood sugar drops and the metabolism will maintain. Add some good carbs for fuel and you're all set.
    Macro nutrient ratios are an individualistic thing and will require adjustment to optimum levels.
    For a person lifting, doing cardio, anything else like work(or trying to live and breathe)everyday activity,etc. I'd say 1200 is not enough.
    I'd need to have a boatload more info to say for sure.
