    Does consuming alot of milk cause excessive gas which can lead to cramps while running which I am currently dealing with.

    huh...i've never noticed, but i dont drink milk within a couple hrs of working out!

      Well I started doing research because this is bugging me.I'm consuming 2 bananas a day plus a potassium pill and drinking enough water.When I start to train for sprinting the cramps start up so I googled it.I found that Milk can lead to excessive gas and I've been having that problem lately.So I guess the excessive gas is leading to cramps? I dunno.But what is causing it?

            I don't drink milk because of that. Every time I drink milk by its self I get severe atomic bomb type gas. If I consume milk when it's with cereal I won't get gas, but my stomach will feel a little weird for a few minutes after I'm done eating. I haven't drank a glass of milk in about 5 years I think.

              I hope thats not it for me because I love milk and its a big source of protein : /.But I'm sick of cramps.

                Cig...do you drink the milk before your practice? Cant you delay it til afterwards ??? just to see if that is the problem.

                  Well, it all honesty, I don't drink milk at all hardly. The only time I have it is with cereal which is not very often. Here's my take on milk.....milk is something we should consume as children from our mothers. It pretty much goes hand in hand with most of the animals on this planet. However, if you look all throughout the entire animal kingdom, humans are the only ones who continue to drink milk after childhood. That just doesn't make sense to me. And, on top of that, we drink the milk of another animal, lol.

                  I think dairy is important, no doubt, but I get mine from yogurt and cheese mostly.

                  As for your issue, cut out milk and see if it goes away. If it does, then you know it's the milk for sure, if it doesn't then you know there's something else.

                    actually t-man has a point being lactose intolerant is actually normal. its through years of evolution that man has gained the ability to drink milk..... and who said my college education was a waste? lol

                        Your exactly right. I've always drank alot of milk and for this past year I was just not healthy at all. For a while there I was puking literally everyday. I went to a gastro int. and told me the same thing T typed. Our bodies aren't meant to consume animal milk, just what comes from our mothers as babies. Excessive amounts can cause all sorts of problems, he recomended that if I just had to have it, do skim or goats milk but he prefered me not drinking it at all. He said that large amounts of maltodextrin can cause the same issues. In the immortal words of Arnold "Milk is foa bebies"

                          i drink a few clsses a day...i love milk! we (the household) goes through about 6 gals a week! do you use protien powder? does it have egg alum. in it...thats the only thing that gives me gas so bad i double over in pain!

                            I'll give you a little better idea what I consume.

                            Breakfast,lunch, and dinner I get 16oz per each meal.
                            Then 2 cups of milk for my 2 protein shakes a day of ON Whey.

                            I'm gonna cut back and see what happens.
