  • Any Ideas?

Since I started my cycle it seems like all I do is cook because all I want to do is eat. Do you guys have any ideas on efficient ways to get my protien intake up without having to cook all the time?

You probably already thought of this, but what I do is cook 4-5 chicken breasts and 4-5 steaks on the grill at a time. This way i'm cookin several meals in the time it takes to cook 1or2. Then I just carry my tupperware with me everyday. Lasts at least 2 maybe 3 days of protien intake. Cuts back on all that cooking daily, if you just do it all at once.....my 2 cents....Shiner

If you use a propane grill it will cut the cleanup as well. that is unless you are not into propane grilling. If not get one of those Foreman grills.

                      Re: Any Ideas?

                      Two suggestions…or three or more

                      1. Cook as much as you can at once, this is most efficient

                      2. On Sunday I bake or grill about 15 chicken breast (okay I used to, now I have other priorities, but regardless)

                      a. After cooking pick all of the chicken off the bone

                      b. Set aside at least 20 oz, put this chicken in a food processor, add the processed chicken to your scrambled eggs, make at least two days worth of eggs at a time, microwave as needed, this will quadruple your protein content for breakfast.

                      c. Take the rest of the chicken and shred it or chop it, place this in bakeware, cover in your favorite bbq sauce, bake for 45 minutes. Weigh, divide & pack into servings, use servings as needed

                      3. get a big ole pot, look up a recipe for chicken broth, make chicken noodle soup, use potatoes, carrots, celery and/or whole grain pasta, this is one of my favorites, you get veggies, carbs, water, and of course protein, plus the chicken is never dry and you don’t need condiments, I even eat this cold a lot.

                      Hope this helps

                      Cheers

                      4. Oh, one more, get low fat hamburger, cook on skillet, mix in spaghetti sauce

All of these you can cook in large quantities, they are not too dry, and they will keep all week.

You can make all of this, eggs excluded, on Sunday and be good thru Friday. Also, I take 4 dozen eggs break them all into a Tupperware container, scramble them, and as needed pour directly into the pan, this saves time also.

                        I thought of another one

chili is protein rich and can be made in bulk, and it last a long time

also, any of the ideas above can be made and frozen in serving size containers

                        cheers
